Scarborough Community Choir – New Christmas Carol

Scarborough Community Choir’s musical director Bill Scott and his wife Jan, have written a new Christmas Carol – Cold Wind – that will be performed at Scarborough Rotary’s Toy and Carol Celebration on 7th December at Westborough Methodist Church, Scarborough.

Describing the Carol’s meaning, Bill Scott said:
“Cold Wind” tells the story of a wind moving through a quiet Yorkshire town. At first, it drifts through the streets, shops, and the small school, “looking for love.” As it passes, it hears children singing songs of joy, love, peace, and Gloria — echoes of the Christmas spirit.
The wind then becomes almost like a character with memories, recalling the night it “breezed into” the humble stable where Jesus was born. That moment of divine love warms the wind, softening it from cold to gentle.
By the end of the song, the once cold wind has found warmth again in the present-day town as it rediscovers the love and meaning of Christmas. The children’s voices and the sacred memory of Christ’s birth bring peace and joy to the wind—and to the community.”
